The Assessment Vote results were announced today at 4:15 p.m., but we have reason to believe these results deserve further investigation which could impact the outcome of the vote.
The issue at hand is as follows: On question #1 ($9 increase for improved properties), 147 paper ballots were submitted where the voter elected to abstain on this question. Our third-party provider tabulated these abstentions as “no” votes, which we have reason to believe at this time to be incorrect. POA legal counsel is presently reviewing the situation and will render an opinion tomorrow.
Regarding question #2 ($3 increase for unimproved), while there were 74 ballots with an abstention on this question, the outcome will be unaffected. This question failed.
Due to the results on question #1 being so close and the significant impact upon the membership, there will be a Special Open Board meeting Wednesday November 2 at 4:30 p.m. at Riordan Hall.
Members are welcome to attend.
