Resolve to get stronger and work out smarter in 2017! The Recreation department is here to help with two great programs:
Fitness 101 – Orientation: Attend this one-time workshop and learn the basics on proper use of our cardio and strength equipment. Each class is limited to 8 participants; class is free with a current POA photo member card, Silver Sneakers member card, or current Silver & Fit membership; participants without these cards will be required to pay the daily facility use fee. Sign up at the centers listed below.
Class meets at the following locations and times in January:
- January 3 – Riordan Hall: 9:30 a.m.
- January 10 – Branchwood Rec Center: 9 a.m.
- January 16 – Branchwood Rec Center: 6:30 p.m.
- January 18 – Metfield Club: 2 p.m.
- January 23 – Riordan Hall: 1 p.m.
- January 31 – Branchwood Rec Center: 9 a.m.
Personal Training: Ready to take your fitness routine to a new level? Know you need more guidance to achieve your goals? Personal Training gives you a dedicated certified trainer who can help assess and guide you. Sessions are generally 30 minutes in length outside of an initial visit with the trainer that may last up to 60 minutes.
Personal Training for the Active Senior: Robert Williams has been in the fitness industry for 20 plus years and focuses on improving functional strength to improve daily living and activities for senior adults.
Other personal trainers are available based on the individual’s goals and interests. Watch for more information at any of the POA fitness centers or call Recreation at 479-855-5073 if interested.
