The Bella Vista Village Property Owners Association hosted the 2015 Camo Classic golf tournament on Saturday, September 5th on its Berksdale course, but next year, the tournament may encompass two or more courses.

The Camo Classic was a four person scramble which allowed members and guests the opportunity to show support for the Folds of Honor Foundation. The foundation supports the families of fallen and injured United States soldiers.

Forty dollars of each team’s entry fee went to the Folds of Honor Foundation in addition to the funds from collection jars at each village pro shop.

Last year, the event successfully raised nearly $1,250. This year, the event raised over $3,200 and catered to 160 golfers.

Food from local restaurants was available for golfers in the tournament. Courtyard Marriot provided breakfast and gourmet coffee. Gusano’s Pizza is showed their support by providing pizza, and Johnny Carino’s pitched in by providing sides and dessert.

Golf Operations Director Andy Mar is hoping for an even bigger turnout next year. ?t takes $5,000 to provide the child of a fallen soldier with an opportunity to go to college through a Folds of Honor scholarship. I would like to see us reach that goal next year.” For more information about the Folds of Honor Foundation, visit www.FoldsofHonor.org.
