Trail system includes nearly 40 miles of multi-use trails
The City of Bella Vista invites you to the grand opening of The Back 40 trails from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 at Blowing Springs Park.
This fun family-friendly event will feature vendor booths, an official ribbon cutting, three family-friendly guided hikes throughout the day from different locations, food trucks, multiple no-drop guided group mountain bike rides based on ability and more.
GPP Cycling & Multisport Shop in Bella Vista is sponsoring the event, and will provide demo bikes and perform bike safety checks, as well as host a bike rodeo for kids and several bike clinics. Do you know how to change a tire? Curious about basic bike maintenance and emergency trail repair? This is the place for you.
Multiple no-drop guided group rides will be offered by ability, led by staff of GPP and Lewis and Clark Outfitters.
Not a rider? No problem. Three family-friendly guided hikes from three different locations will give you a close look at the trail system on foot, and guarantee some spectacular views. The hikes will be led by Mayor Peter Christie, NWA Trailblazers Director Erin Rushing and Rush Running Co. owner Mike Rush.
See the city’s website, http://www.bellavistaar.gov/, and Facebook event page (City of Bella Vista, Arkansas) for details and updates on the schedule of events. Vendors or organizations interested in participating in the grand opening event should contact Cassi Lapp at 479-876-1255 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Construction of the public trail system began in January, and was funded by a grant to NWA Trailblazers from the Walton Family Foundation. The system offers nearly 40 miles of soft-surface, multi-use trails for everyone to enjoy, on bike or on foot.
