Bella Vista Chair Chat

Wed, June 10, 2015 | Board and Administration

I will be disseminating a monthly Board update letter throughout various communication channels – this will be the first of its kind.
The spring rains have blessed Bella Vista. The lakes are full, the grass is green and flowers are blooming all over the village!
YOUR Board is very interested in hearing constructive suggestions for Bella Vista amenities and feedback on the various programs we sponsor throughout the year. Sharing your thoughts with us is easy and everyone has an opportunity to participate! We have two public meetings a month and our contact information is listed on the POA website.
The Tanyard Creek Celebration that was held on May 30th was a great party! Three bands, activities for children, dancing (thanks to the ladies that allowed me to share a step or two with them), food trucks, and free raffle prizes! This event was organized, sponsored and paid for by your POA.Many thanks to: committee members Sylvia Camacho-Green, Lin Schneider, Stacie McCoy and Ashlee Napier, our stage emcee Glenda Sue Morris, volunteers Sue Lahood, Larry and Ellen Bugee, Shirley and Bob Long, Stacey Pehosh, John Kelly, AJ Morris, Bob and Beth Anderson, Barbara Bryan, Tom Wooters, Carolyn Mitchell and Becky Graham, POA staff members Don and Dusty Rose, Andy Mar, Clem Morgan and Tim Jaycox, Board Member John (and his bride Sue) Nuttall and POA President Tommy Bailey. Special thanks to the following groups: Hill N Dale Hikers, Bella Vista Christian and United Methodist Churches and Arvest Bank!
Please thank these individuals and groups as you meet them around town for their great work!
Speaking of events, this Saturday, June 13th, we will be hosting Fish Fest at Lake Avalon which will include a KIDS' FISHING DERBY! Check the POA website for more details.
Lake Windsor is holding a boat parade on June 27th beginning at 6pm, and don't miss an opportunity to share a family movie under the stars at Metfield Pavilion on June 20th "Big Hero" starts at 8:30pm.
With warmer weather comes an increase in lake use. Please remember to watch out for all watercraft and people on (or in my case, in) the lake. Our lakes play host to various summer activities including fishing, swimming, kayaking and skiing. The fun is abundant, let?s keep it safe!
The golf courses are really coming into shape after the long winter and wet spring. With a new focus on the quality of our putting surfaces, the superintendents and ground crew have improved the POA greens substantially. Thanks to our staff and to our Director of Grounds Keith Ihms, CGCS for their dedicated service! As a side note, due to the flooding in Texas, a large portion of sod that had been ordered to further improve the winter fairway damage has been underwater for the past three weeks. I am sure the crew will get to that work when the materials become available.
Plan now for Freedom Fest, at Loch Lomond July 3rd and the 4th of July Patriot Parade. We are truly blessed to be free!
Enjoy the beginning of a great Bella Vista Summer.
From YOUR Board of Directors,
Chairman Bob Brooks
