On November 11th, 2016, Bella Vista’s newly renovated Scotsdale Golf Course hosted its First Annual Veterans Day Golf Tournament. The tournament kicked off at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start, featuring 100 players and a total of 18 hole sponsors. Entrance fees included Tournament golf, flight prizes, and closest-to-the-pin prizes. Jim Sposato (creator of Sposato’s Bar-B-Que Sauce in Lincoln, Arkansas) generously provided a free pork loin dinner, and Macadoodles Fine Wine, Beer, and Spirits supplied the tournament’s beer. Great Clips granted all participating Veterans with a coupon good for a free haircut.

The First Annual Veterans Day Golf Tournament raised $2,864.81– all of which will go directly to the Arkansas State Veterans’ Home at 1179 North College Avenue in Fayetteville. The Veterans Day Tournament check presentation is scheduled for 9:30 am Thursday December 15 at Bella Vista Country Club: 98 Clubhouse Drive.

In attendance will be Bill Barr, Bella Vista Member, Phillip Wright, Director of Golf Operations, Darryl Muldoon, Golf Operations Manager, Dee Wellesley, Activities Director for Arkansas State Veterans Home at Fayetteville.

Based on this year’s success, the Veterans Day Golf Tournament will become one of Bella Vista’s annual events, and we are looking forward to participation and sponsorship growing each year.
