The rifle and pistol range is open daily. A key for the gate may be checked out at the Branchwood Recreation Center. The trap and skeet range, which is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, is manned by a range master. The 100-yard rifle range features three covered shooting benches, while the 25-yard pistol range offers covered shooting positions and a covered waiting area at the 50-yard mark. Each shooter is required to furnish their own targets and attachments for the stands. Shooting at moving targets is prohibited. POA members may obtain a key for the gun range gates at the Branchwood Recreation Center.

Members will be required to leave their POA-issued photo identification cards or paper membership cards at the center until they return with the key. In addition, each person will be required to sign an agreement and a release of liability in order to use the gun range. There is a 2 hour 30 minute time limit on having a key checked out. Members that do not return keys are subject to a fine. Members are asked to lock the gate after entering or exiting the range area. Those without keys will not be allowed to enter the range.

Trap and Skeet Ranges
The Highlands Gun Range has three trap fields and two skeet fields with overlay. The complex is manned by a range master. Members and non-members are required to bring their own guns and ammunition; targets are provided for a fee through an electronic management system.
